3 EASY STEPS- Mellow With Mediation
With all the noise and electronics in our lives, we need quiet. According to the Mayo clinic staff,
meditation is an umbrella term for the many ways to a relaxed state of being.
We all need to take time to meditate to help calm, balance, and bring peace to our lives. So
how can we do this?
1.We can focus on praying to God or focus on a calming word or thought. This type
of meditation that you can do helps block out surrounding distractions and calms
2.You can do breathing techniques where you concentrate on each breath
you take. Another breathing exercise you can practice to relieve stress is to inhale
for 5 seconds, do this for several min. in different combinations. This helps your
mind focus on your breathing and not the environment.
3.The last method is yoga .Great for stretching and breathing control,
this creates a calm mind and a limber body.
Example -The Bridge Pose
1. Lie on your back with the knees bent and the soles of your feet flat on the floor. ( Can use a mat)
2. The feet should be parallel and stay that way through the duration of the pose.
3. Press down into the soles of the feet as you lift the hips off the floor. Both your arms on either side of your body should support the lifting movement.
(Note your top half of your body is still on the ground only hips are in the air. Making a bridge pose releases stress in the back.)
You can also use something behind your back for support such as a towel or yoga block.
