Having a child's birthday party can break the budget. I just had one for my child so I definitely know. The decorations, food, entertainment, and party favors can really add up fast. So what's a family to do?
I'm here to give you tips on how to cut the cost for your next birthday party. So you will save some money, and not break the bank.
Budget: Yes I said it...I know it's not fun. This is though the first step to do in order to keep your focus. We all have to know what we have to work with when planning a party. So set your budget and stick with it. If you can it's best to try to save a little each month through out the year. This way it's not as overwhelming the month of the party. If you need $360 for your party put $30 away a month. If you need more or less save accordingly.
CAKE: This can save you a good amount. Bake and make your own cake. The last party I had I didn't have time to make mine...Big Mistake! I should have made the time to make it. It cost me $23.00 for a very little cake serving 10-12 people. I could have easily made a much larger cake for $5.00. Yes those fancy cakes are fun and if it's in your budget great. If not a home made cake will do just fine.
Decorations: The dollar store is my best friend. Great way to buy balloons, candy, and party supplies. All for $1.00 each you can't go wrong. Also check out what you might already have around the house. Get creative and make some decorations. Check out Pinterest for great ideas.
Food: PIZZA always seems the cheapest way to go for a party. The last party we had it cost $40.00 for 6 pizzas. Look for local deals and pick the best. If you don't want pizza and your budget allows it,... Try calling a local restaurant to cater your party.
Entertainment: If your having your party at home get creative.
Summer Party Ideas
1. Ice cream party
2. Slip and slide party
3. Tie-Dye Tee shirts
4. Bonce House ( If you Budget it cost around $200)
Winter Party Ideas:
1. Decorating Ornaments
3. Board game party
4. Movies ( For a quieter Party)
Favors: Again love the dollar store, or you could also order bulk favors online. Fill a bag with a little candy and a coloring book. Keep it very simple. The last party I got glow bracelets at the dollar store 20 for $1.00. The kids loved them. This can be done for very cheap less then $2.00 a kid.
I hope this helped you cut cost and budget for a child's birthday party.
